Overview

‘Enchanting Sunderban with Historical Tour of Bihar’ is well designed itinerary which gives you the chance to explore the some of the popular destinations of Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bangal. of Jharkhand such as Ranchi, Bokaro and Hazaribagh. Jharkhand was separated from Bihar and became an independent state in 2000. Jharkhand is also called as Vananchal which is a combination of two Hindi words “Vana” means “Forests” and “Anchal” means “area” thus the word means “Land of Forests”.  The main source of revenue for Jharkhand is Agriculture, but in a very few years the state is embodied by good road network and telecommunication with other major states of India. Ranchi is the capital city of the state Jharkhand. During this tour you will explore Vaishali. It is a small village in Bihar.It is one of the renowned historical city and it believed that one of the first democratic republics of the world. Apart from this you will also get the chance to visit Nalanda and Rajgir. During 5th century, Nalanda was the renowned Buddhist learning centre, now housing the ruins of one of the most ancient universities of the world. You will also visit Mahabodhi Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During this your will also get the chance to explore the amazing Sunderban. It is Tiger Reserve, Biosphere Reserve and a National Park in West Bengal.  Located on Ganges Delta, and adjacent to the Sundarban Reserve Forest in Bangladesh. It is one of the largest reserves and home of the Bengal tiger which is covered by dense mangrove forests. Apart from this it is also the home to reptile, invertebrate species such as salt-water crocodile and the verities of birds. In 1973 it was declared as Sundarban Tiger Reserve and it was declared a National Park in 1984. Apart from this you will also get the chance to explore the major attractions of Kolkata as well.The duration of the tour is 11 nights and 12 days.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival at Ranchi (By flight)

A Traditional Welcome by our Tour Representative on your arrival at Ranchi Airport/Railway Station followed with a check-in to your pre-reserved Hotel.  Ranchi was originally a tribal country with majority of forest lands but now serves as a capital to the Jharkhand state. It is the second most populous cities of Jharkhand and surrounded by lush hills and beautiful waterfalls. In the recent years, Ranchi has grown as a popular industrial town and an education center in the state. After freshen-up, proceed for Ranchi sightseeing tour with our Tour Representative to see the popular places such as Ranchi Lake, Ranchi Hill, Pahari Mandir, Gonda Hill, Rock Garden and Kanke Dam.  At the end of the Tour, return to your Hotel and relax.

Day 02: Ranchi Sightseeing

After Breakfast, proceed for Ranchi sightseeing tour with our Tour Representative to see other popular attractions such as Sun Temple, Jagannathpur Temple, Dhurwa Dam and Dassam Falls.  Start your day by visiting the Sun Temple which is built as a chariot with 18 wheels and being pulled by 7 white horses.  Temple is surrounded with a beautiful Pond which is used by devotees to worship Sun. Visit the Jagannathpur Temple which is replica of the famous Jagannath Puri temple of Orissa.  The famous Car Festival (Rath Yatra) is celebrated with great passion. Ranchi is famous for its waterfalls; visit the beautiful 145 feet Dassam Waterfalls during the tour.  At the end of the Tour, return to your Hotel and relax.

Day 03: Ranchi – Bokaro (By Road- 100 Kilometres)

 
Check-out from the Hotel after your breakfast and proceed to Bokaro “The Steel Capital of India”. Bokaro is situated along the Damodar River and famous across Globe for its Iron and steel plants. The surrounding of the city has its own picturesque beauty which attracts people to visit Bokaro for picnics and short trips.  Upon your arrival in Bokaro, check-in at your pre-reserved Hotel and relax.  After freshen-up, proceed for Bokaro sightseeing tour with our Tour Representative to see the popular places such as Bokaro Steel Plant, Garga Dam, Jagannath Mandir and Jawaharlal Nehru Biological Park.  At the end of the Tour, return to your Hotel and relax.

Post Breakfast, check-out from the Hotel and proceed to Hazaribagh which is also called “Land of Thousand Gardens”.  Hazaribagh is surrounded by mountains and forests and is quite rich in the natural beauty. The main mountains of Hazaribagh are Chandwara and Jillinja. Hazaribagh also has importance from religious prospects People from different areas visit the religious and historical places of the city. Upon your arrival at Hazaribagh, check-in at your pre-reserved Hotel and relax.  After freshen-up proceed for Hazaribagh sightseeing tour with our Tour Representative to see the popular places such as Hazaribagh Lake, Rajrappa Temple, Canary Hills and Urwan Tourist Complex.  At the end of the Tour, return to your Hotel and relax.

Day 05: Hazaribagh Sightseeing

After Breakfast, proceed for Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary with our Tour Representative. Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary is a pleasant place for people who are wildlife or nature lovers. The Sanctuary is a home to many animals like Nilgais, Chital, Sloth Bear, Panther, Sambhar and Wild Boar.  One may be fortunate to spot a Tiger during a safari tour however the population of tigers is very low here.  There are many observatory towers available in the Sanctuary through which it is very convenient to closely watch the wildlife. At the end of the Safari Tour, return to your Hotel in Hazaribagh and relax.

Day 06: Hazaribagh – Ranchi (By Road-95 Kilometres) - Departure (By flight)

Check-out from the Hotel after your Breakfast and proceed to Ranchi.  Upon arrival at Ranchi, transfer to Ranchi Airport for your onward flight to Patna.Upon arrival at Patna airport, meet our representative, then proceed to the hotel. Check-in at your pre booked. Rest day is free at leisure.

Day 06: Patna - Vaishali – Patna (By Road-32 Kilometres)

Today after breakfast, proceed to explore Vaishali.It is a small village in Bihar.It is one of the renowned historical city and it believed that one of the first democratic republics of the world, with an elected assembly of representatives, flourished here.

Later, drive back to Patna for an overnight stay.

Day 07: Patna - Bodhgaya via Nalanda & Rajgir (By Road-180 Kilometres)

After breakfast, drive for Bodhgaya, one of the well-known Buddhist pilgrimage centres in India. En route, visit the famous towns of Nalanda and Rajgir. Later, drive further to Bodhgaya and on reaching here, check-in your pre-booked hotel. Rest day is free at leisure.

Day 08: Bodhgaya Sightseeing

Today after having breakfast, proceed for sightseeing tour of Bodhgaya. Visit the renowned Mahabodhi Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the place where, Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment. It is one of the holiest place for Buddhist.It comprises the sacred Bodhi tree, Vajrasana and six holy sites of enlightenment of Buddha.After a visit to this temple, you can explore some more attractions of the place, if time permits.

Later, return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 09: Bodhgaya - Patna (By Road-120 kilometres) –Kolkata (By Flight)

After having your breakfast, and check-out from the hotel, then proceed for Patna airport to take flight to Kolkata. Upon arrival at Kolkata, proceed to the hotel. Check-in to your pre-reserved Hotel. Check-in and relax for some time and later proceed for Kolkata sightseeing tour with our Tour Representative to see the popular places such as Dakshineswar Kali Temple, Indian Museum, Marble Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Victoria memorial, Eden Gardens and Howrah Bridge. At the end of the tour, back to your Hotel and relax.

Day 10: Kolkata – Sundarbans (By Road-120 Kilometres)

Check-out from the Hotel after your breakfast and drive to Sundarbans, a place where soil meets the ocean.  Sundarbans is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature admirers. Sundarbans is a part of the one of the world`s biggest river basins formed by the holy rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna in the Bay of Bengal. Sundarbans is one of the most attractive and fascinating places enduring on earth. Upon your arrival at Sundarbans, proceed for administrative formalities and then you will be transferred by motor boat passing through different rivers to your pre-reserved resort located in the Sundarbans islands. Check-in at your Hotel and relax.  Post Lunch, proceed for a motor boat ride to witness the wilderness of Sundarbans National Park. During the ride observe the wildlife by visiting the popular places like Sajnekhali Watchtower& Museum and Mangrove Interpretation Centre. During sunset, back to your Hotel and relax.

Day 11: Sundarbans Sightseeing

After Breakfast, proceed for a day cruise through the network of Rivers and narrow coves of Sundarbans. During the cruise visit the different watchtowers of Sundarbans such as Sudhanyakhali, Neti Dhopani and Do Banki. Enjoy an onboard Lunch during the cruise. Observe the Wildlife at Neti Dhopani which is a sweet water pond and attracts many wild species, the point offers an opportunity to intimately experience the wildlife.  Observe the ruins of 400 years old Temple in Neti Dhopani. The topography of Sundarbans can be compared with Amazon and that is why Sundarbans is also called as Amazon of India. During Sunset, back to your Hotel and relax.

Day 11: Sundarbans – Kolkata (By Road-120 Kilometres)

After Breakfast, proceed to visit the local villages and experience the village life in the forest. Later return to hotel for check-out formalities and proceed for Godhkhali for onward journey to Kolkata. Upon your arrival at Kolkata, check-in at your pre-reserved Hotel and relax.
